Aion 2 Macro Guide: How to Set Up Skill Macros
Global (NA/EU) · Season 1 · last verified 2026-10-13 · community-compiled, Unverified unless marked Global
Quick answer. The Aion 2 macro is a built-in, NC-made feature, not a script. Bind the macro key (it starts unbound), stack up to four skills on a quick slot with row 0 at the bottom firing first, add those slots as up to 20 steps at 10 ms, and hold the key. Keep toggles, charged skills, defensives and burst buffs on your own fingers.
Set up the macro key
Section titled “Set up the macro key”| Step | What to do | Status | Sources |
|---|---|---|---|
| Where it lives | Built into the Skill screen (default K), top-right Macro button | Community consensus | Community |
| Macro key | Not bound by default: Settings → Key Settings → General → MacroMost players use right or side mouse button. | Community consensus | Community |
| How it runs | Hold the key to keep attempting steps; release to stop; manual input overrides it | Community consensus | Community |
| Control mode | Use the AION 2 control mode; mouse macro keys do not work in AION 1 mode | Community consensus | Community |
| Skill Queue | Turn it on in options if stacked skills fail to come out | Unverified | Community |
Skill stacks and row priority
Section titled “Skill stacks and row priority”A macro does not press skills directly; it presses quick slots. Each slot is a small priority list, and the macro steps cycle through slots.
| Rule | Detail | Status | Sources |
|---|---|---|---|
| Stack | Each quick slot holds up to four skills: the slot plus three stacked above it (rows 0–3) | Community consensus | Community |
| Priority | Row 0 at the bottom goes first; the first skill that is off cooldown and meets its conditions fires | Community consensus | Community |
| Steps | Up to 20 steps; each step points at a quick slotMatches the in-game info text quoted by the source. | Unverified | Community |
| Delay | 10–9,900 ms per step; 10 ms default and recommendedA shorter delay does not remove cast times or cooldowns. | Community consensus | Community |
| Order | Step order is not guaranteed; the game warns about this, so a macro is not a fixed rotation | Unverified | Community |
| Filler rule | Only one no-cooldown skill per macro, otherwise it loops on that skillEchoed in community help threads. | Unverified | Community |
Delay and ping
Section titled “Delay and ping”| Your ping | Suggested delay | Status | Sources |

| Under 50 ms | 5–10 ms | Unverified | Community |
| 50–100 ms | 10–20 ms | Unverified | Community |
| 100–150 ms | 20–30 ms | Unverified | Community |
| 150 ms+ | 30 ms+, then test on a dummyThe in-game minimum is 10 ms, so "5" means the minimum. | Unverified | Community |
What to keep manual
Section titled “What to keep manual”| Type | Examples | Status | Sources |
|---|---|---|---|
| Toggles | Chanter mantras, Cleric Light of Protection – pressing again turns them off | Community consensus | Community |
| Charged skills | Ranger Deadshot, Sorcerer Hellfire, Templar Punishment | Community consensus | Community |
| Defensive and movement | Defiance, blocks, gap-closers, escapes – timing matters | Community consensus | Community |
| Burst buffs | Illusive Clone, Lunge Stance, Power of the Storm – line them up with the boss | Community consensus | Community |
| PvP | Fixed chains are predictable against players | Unverified | Community |
Macros for every class
Section titled “Macros for every class”Each class page holds the full layout – stack grid, steps, sources – in its rotation and macro section. This table is the summary.

Sorcerer is the one class where the two main guides use different macros; both are on the Sorcerer build page. Skill priority behind each macro comes from the class builds, and the damage calculator shows which stats those skills scale with.
Troubleshooting
Section titled “Troubleshooting”| Symptom | Likely cause | Fix | Status | Sources |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Nothing happens | Macro key not bound, or no steps added | Bind it under Key Settings → General; add steps with Add Macro | Community consensus | Community |
| Only one skill fires | A no-cooldown skill sits first or more than one filler is in the macro | Keep exactly one filler, put it last or on basic attack | Unverified | Community |
| "No usable skills available" | Every skill in the slot is on cooldown or its condition is not met | Add a skill that is ready, or check the condition (e.g. Chain of Torment for Condemnation) | Unverified | Community |
| Macro stopped | You switched skill presets | Hold the key again; check the macro exists on that preset | Unverified | Community |
| "Cannot activate macro in current state" | Some character states block macros (the game does not list them) | Release, wait for the state to end, hold again | Unverified | Community |
| Mouse key does nothing | AION 1 control mode | Switch to AION 2 control mode | Community consensus | Community |
| Skills skip or stutter | Delay too low for your ping, or Skill Queue off | Raise delay in small steps; turn Skill Queue on | Community consensus | Community |
| Charged skill fires weak | Charged skills fire uncharged in a macro | Take Hellfire, Deadshot, Punishment out and charge by hand | Community consensus | Community |
Is the macro allowed?
Section titled “Is the macro allowed?”| Tool | Status | Status | Sources |
|---|---|---|---|
| In-game macro | Built by NC into the Skill screen; you still aim, move and hold the key | Community consensus | Community |
| Third-party or hardware macros | Auto-hunt scripts, input broadcasters, mouse software macros: players report bans and process scanningWe found no NC statement listing what is detected. | Unverified | Community |
Aion 2 macros vs old Aion macros
Section titled “Aion 2 macros vs old Aion macros”Search results still mix in guides for the original Aion, where macros were text scripts built from slash commands. None of that carries over: Aion 2 has no command syntax, and macros cannot be pasted or imported. You rebuild every layout by hand from a picture or a list – which is why our class pages draw the grid.
What are the macro commands in Aion 2?
There are none. The original Aion let you write text macros with slash commands, and those old guides still show up in search. Aion 2 has no text macros: you stack skills on quick slots and add those slots as steps in the Skill screen.
Can I copy or paste a macro in Aion 2?
No. Macros cannot be imported as text, so every guide (ours included) shows a layout you rebuild by hand: which skills go on which slot and row, then the steps.
How do I set up a macro in Aion 2?
Bind the macro key under Settings → Key Settings → General, stack skills on quick slots (row 0 at the bottom fires first), add those slots as steps with a 10 ms delay, then hold the key in combat.
Are macros allowed in Aion 2? Can they be detected?
The in-game macro is NC's own feature and is allowed. Third-party and hardware macros are a different thing: players report bans and process scanning, though we found no NC list of what is detected.
Why does my macro only cast one skill?
A skill with no cooldown is always ready, so if it is first – or if two fillers are in the macro – the macro keeps firing it. Keep one filler only.
What macro delay should I use? Is Aion 2 ping reliant?
10 ms works for most players. One community table suggests 10–20 ms at 50–100 ms ping and 20–30 ms at 100–150 ms. Test on a training dummy rather than trusting any table.
