Aion 2 Gladiator Build
Global · PvE (PvP notes below) · last verified 2026-10-13 · community-compiled
This Gladiator build summarises community guides for Global and is checked against our damage model. NC publishes no builds, so nothing here is official; badges show where community reports agree or differ. Builds change with patches, so check the date.
The Gladiator swings a greatsword and plays as a frontline bruiser who can hold a boss when the tank slips. Every guide we checked builds it around one window: Rage Burst unlocks Overhead Slam, and the level 16 specialization lets you spam it.
Gladiator stat priority (from our calculator)
Every class shares the same top three on a typical Global sheet: Smite (with party Smite) (+0.95%), Attack Increase (+0.76%), Combat Speed (+0.74%). What changes for the Gladiator is below.
| Question | Gladiator answer | Numbers (+1 point) |
|---|---|---|
| Crit rate or crit damage? | Crit damage winsAbout 60% of damage already crits (guaranteed-crit skills, our estimate), so crit rate only affects the rest. | Crit rate +0.16% (= 3.7 Attack) · Crit damage +0.54% (= 12.5 Attack) |
| Front/back damage boost? | Works; value scales with how long you hold position (75% uptime assumed) | +0.72% per 1% |
| Smite vs boss resist | Bosses resist 30% Smite. Solo with 25% Smite you are below it, so Smite adds nothing; with 10% party Smite every point counts. | Solo +0.00% · Party +0.95% |
Open the Gladiator preset in the calculator Example sheet: ~1,800 attack, 45% crit, 33% crit damage boost, 25% Smite, boss target. Your gear changes the order: enter your own numbers.
Gladiator note: Gladiator is the one class where the usual crit advice flips. Overhead Slam always crits, so a big slice of your damage ignores crit rate entirely and crit damage becomes the better crit stat.

Gladiator rotation and macro
- Open with Ruinous Blow for Prepare for Battle
- Pop Lunge Stance and Zikel's Blessing for stationary phases
- Rage Burst, then repeat Overhead Slam and Rending Blow while the window lasts
- Keen Strike between windows for MP; Sword Aura Rampage on stagger
- Block heavy hits: Experienced Counterstrike gives the party a damage buff (does not stack with Templar Fury)

- 3Rending BlowMouse2 · row 010 ms
Hold the macro key with basic attack; Overhead Slam only fires on a knocked-down target or inside the Rage Burst window.
Keep manual: Lunge Stance, Zikel's Blessing, Defiance.
One community guide also lists off-tank and solo variants.

PvP notes
- Stigmas move to Lunge Stance, Armor of Balance, Tenaciousness and Blade Toss
- Combo: Mocking Blade knockdown → Overhead Slam → Aerial Snare / Forced Fall
- Blade Toss cuts enemy healing and Defense; keep Defiance for hard control only
- PvP stat focus shifts to PvP Damage Tolerance, status resist and HP
Where guides disagree
- Stat priority: two community guides put Critical Hit right after Accuracy. Our model says crit rate is the Gladiator's weakest percentage stat, because roughly 60% of damage already crits (estimate). One community guide also notes Lunge Stance 20 rewards crits with cooldown cuts, which the model does not capture.
- Fourth stigma: Focused Block vs Wave Armor vs Blade Toss. It depends on whether you tank, need sustain or want party utility.
- Skill order: one guide levels Ruinous Blow first; the other four guides start with Overhead Slam.
- Crit Damage stones: one community guide skips them (passive already supplies the stat); our model still ranks Crit Damage above crit rate for Gladiator.
Global vs Korea notes
- Global caps crit rate at 50%; Korean guides assume 80%.
- Several Gladiator specializations changed before the Global launch (one community guide), so older Korean videos can show different picks.
- Global has four stigma slots (levels 22/27/32/37) and a level 45 cap.
FAQ
What is the best Gladiator build for PvE in Aion 2?
Most Global guides build around Rage Burst and Overhead Slam: get Overhead Slam to level 16 to remove its cooldown, run Rage Burst, Lunge Stance and Zikel's Blessing, and loop Overhead Slam with Rending Blow inside the Rage Burst window.
What stats should a Gladiator prioritize?
Accuracy for the content first. After that, our damage model ranks Smite (once it beats boss resist), Attack Increase and Combat Speed highest. Unlike other classes, crit damage beats crit rate on Gladiator because much of its damage already crits.
Can a Gladiator tank in Aion 2?
It can off-tank: its attacks build Enmity, Focused Block handles heavy hits, and blocking triggers Experienced Counterstrike for the party. Templar remains the dedicated main tank.
What weapon does a Gladiator use?
A greatsword. Weapon Damage Boost only multiplies the weapon's pure attack, so it is a strong line on the weapon and guard.
Is Gladiator good for solo play?
Yes. Guides call it one of the most forgiving classes for solo progression; swap a stigma for Lifestealing Blade if you need more sustain.
Assassin or Gladiator?
Gladiator is sturdier and easier to play from the front. Assassin has a higher burst ceiling but needs back positioning and crit uptime.
